Panel 2 — ROBY READS

That evening, Roby lies on his bed reading an old storybook.

The cover reads:

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK

Roby:

“Just one more page...”

Panel 3 — INSIDE THE STORY

Vintage/storybook treatment.

Young Jack climbs an enormous beanstalk toward a castle in the clouds.

Caption:

“Higher and higher Jack climbed...”

Roby, in a thought bubble:

“Wow!”

Panel 4 — THE WISH

Roby closes the book.

Roby:

“I wish something like that could happen to us!”

His phone lights up.

Jimmy:

“School tomorrow, remember!”

Roby:

“Yeah, yeah!”

Panel 5 — NORMAL MORNING

The next morning, Roby and Jimmy walk to school with their backpacks.

Roby:

“Just another normal day.”

Jimmy:

“At least no monsters or magic beans today!”

Panel 6 — THE MYSTERY

They stop when they notice a tiny green shoot growing through a crack in the pavement.

Jimmy:

“Roby? Look at this!”

Roby:

“Huh?”

Caption:

“Something strange is just beginning...”

PAGE 2 — THE BEANSTALK

Panel 7 — IT'S GROWING

A little later, the boys check the plant again.

Roby:

“It's bigger than before!”

Jimmy:

“Wow! Look at those leaves!”

Panel 8 — WHOOSH!

In a matter of hours, the plant suddenly shoots upward.

WHOOOSH!

Jimmy:

“Look! It's growing so fast!”

Roby:

“That's incredible!”

Panel 9 — EVERYONE NOTICES

Students gather around and take pictures as the enormous plant towers over Riverside School.

Student:

“Is this real?”

Another:

“It's a giant plant!”

A phone screen shows the giant plant going viral.

Panel 10 — THE CONNECTION

Roby holds up his copy of Jack and the Beanstalk while looking at the real beanstalk.

Roby:

“It's just like the story!”

Jimmy:

“But how did this happen here?”

Panel 11 — THE CLUE

Roby notices a small tag attached to the beanstalk.

It carries a leaf symbol and “R.S.”

Roby:

“Look! There's a tag on the plant!”

Jimmy:

“R.S...?”

Panel 12 — THE RESEARCH AREA

They follow the clue to a fenced area marked:

R.S. — RIVERSIDE SCHOOL RESEARCH AREA

The same leaf symbol appears on the sign.

Roby:

“Maybe this has something to do with it.”

Jimmy:

“Let's find out where it came from.”

Caption:

“Time to find answers...”

PAGE 3 — THE MODERN GIANT

Panel 13 — DR. KARIM

Roby and Jimmy are welcomed into the Riverside School Research Centre.

A friendly, tall scientist approaches them.

Dr. Karim:

“You two found the beanstalk! I'm Dr. Karim. We study fast-growing plants here.”

Roby:

“You grew this beanstalk?”

Panel 14 — THE CASTLE IN THE CLOUDS

Dr. Karim takes them to the top of the enormous plant.

Above the city is a spectacular sky greenhouse surrounded by clouds.

Roby:

“A castle in the clouds!”

Jimmy:

“Just like the story!”

Dr. Karim:

“We grow plants here for a greener future.”

Panel 15 — BUT THERE'S A PROBLEM

Inside the greenhouse, warning screens flash:

GROWTH RATE TOO HIGH!

Dr. Karim explains:

“The seed was designed to grow quickly, but it's growing faster than expected!”

He points toward the city.

“If we don't slow it down, it could damage the city!”

Panel 16 — ROBY & JIMMY FIND A SOLUTION

Roby notices that the plant grows faster in direct sunlight.

Roby:

“It grows faster in direct sunlight! So let's shade the lower part to slow it down!”

Jimmy:

“I'll activate the shade panels!”

They operate the greenhouse controls.

The shades cover the lower levels.

The growth begins to slow.

Dr. Karim:

“Great idea! That should stabilise the growth.”

Panel 17 — THE REWARD

The warning changes to:

GROWTH STABILISING...

Dr. Karim smiles and gives the boys one special seed.

Dr. Karim:

“Take this seed. Great things can start small.”

Roby:

“Thank you!”

Jimmy:

“We'll plant it at school!”

Panel 18 — THE MODERN ENDING

Later, at sunset, Roby and Jimmy plant the seed in their school/community garden.

A tiny green shoot appears.

Jimmy:

“Think it will grow into another beanstalk?”

Roby:

“Maybe... But even if it doesn't, it's a good place to start!”

Final caption:

“Big adventures can grow from small ideas.”
