BACK TO EGYPT

A forecasterman Comic

Bible Focus: Exodus 4:18–31
Theme: Obedience • Courage • Partnership • Faith
Format: 18 Panels • 3 A5 Portrait Pages • 2 Columns × 3 Rows

The revised storyline follows Exodus 4:18–31 closely: Moses leaves Jethro, travels toward Egypt with his family and the staff of God, Aaron meets him at the mountain of God, Moses shares God's message and signs with Aaron, they gather the elders, Aaron speaks and performs the signs, and the people believe and worship. A5 MASTER RULE: Dialogue and captions are deliberately concise. The artwork should never require shrinking text to make it fit.

PAGE 1 — THE JOURNEY BEGINS

PANEL 1 — TITLE

EZRA & THE TIME SCROLL
Adventures Through Bible Time

Series 1 — Episode 6

BACK TO EGYPT

A forecasterman Comic

Visual: Moses walking through the wilderness with his staff, Zipporah and their sons travelling with him. Egypt lies far ahead.

PANEL 2 — THE SCROLL'S NEXT DESTINATION

Visual: Back in the cave. The image of the burning bush from Episode 5 fades. The Scroll now shows Moses travelling toward Egypt with his family.

Sam:
“Who's with Moses?”

Ezra:
“I think we'll find out.”

Visual: The Scroll glows.

PANEL 3 — THROUGH TIME

Visual: Ezra touches the central symbol. Sam touches the edge. The ancient symbols rotate.

SFX:

WHOOOOSH!

Visual: The portal opens and carries them into Moses' journey.

PANEL 4 — GOODBYE, JETHRO

Visual: Moses stands with Jethro before beginning the journey.

Moses:
“I want to return to my people in Egypt.”

Jethro:
“Go in peace.”

Visual: Jethro gives Moses a warm farewell.

A5 note: No Ezra/Sam dialogue. Let the scene breathe.

PANEL 5 — THE JOURNEY HOME

Visual: Moses, Zipporah and their sons travel through the wilderness. Their belongings are carried on a donkey. Moses carries his staff.

Sam:
“That’s quite a journey.”

Ezra:
“And he knows what he's going back to.”

Visual: Moses looks toward the distant horizon.

PANEL 6 — THE STAFF OF GOD

Visual: Close-up of Moses holding his ordinary wooden staff.

Sam:
“That's the staff God told him to take.”

Ezra:
“He'll use it for the signs.”

Visual note: Keep the staff simple and natural—not magical or weapon-like.

Transition caption:
And Moses continued toward Egypt.

This deliberately moves the story forward without dramatizing the difficult Exodus 4:24–26 incident.

PAGE 2 — A BROTHER'S WELCOME

PANEL 7 — AARON APPROACHES

Visual: Moses sees a man approaching across the wilderness.

Moses:
“Aaron?”

Sam:
“Aaron!”

Ezra:
“The man from the Scroll.”

Visual: Aaron approaches with a welcoming expression.

PANEL 8 — BROTHERS REUNITED

Visual: Moses and Aaron embrace warmly.

Sam:
“His brother came to meet him.”

Ezra:
“He's not doing this alone.”

Visual: A warm, emotional moment. No extra dialogue.

Exodus says Aaron met Moses at the mountain of God and greeted him with a kiss. (Bible Gateway)

PANEL 9 — SHARING THE MISSION

Visual: Moses and Aaron sit together as Moses explains everything he has been told.

Moses:
“God has sent me to bring His people out of Egypt.”

Aaron:
“Then we will tell the people.”

Sam:
“They're working together.”

Visual note: Keep this panel intimate and uncluttered.

PANEL 10 — THE SIGNS

Visual: Moses demonstrates the signs God had given him. Use a compact visual sequence within the panel rather than a crowded collection of separate scenes.

Sam:
“Those are the signs God gave Moses.”

Ezra:
“Now Aaron knows what to show the people.”

Visual: Moses and Aaron look toward the road ahead.

PANEL 11 — TOWARD THE ISRAELITES

Visual: Moses and Aaron walk toward the Israelite community. In the distance, tents and families become visible.

Sam:
“Do you think they'll believe them?”

Ezra:
“They'll hear what God has done.”

Visual: The community begins to notice them.

PANEL 12 — THE ELDERS GATHER

Visual: Moses and Aaron stand before the gathered elders of Israel.

Aaron:
“God has sent us to you.”

Caption:
The elders gathered to listen.

Visual note: Keep the group visually simple so the speech remains easy to read.

Exodus 4:29 says Moses and Aaron gathered the elders of Israel. (Bible Gateway)

PAGE 3 — THE PEOPLE BELIEVE

PANEL 13 — GOD HAS SEEN

Visual: Aaron speaks to the elders. The worried faces of the Israelites show years of suffering.

Aaron:
“God has seen your suffering.”

Sam:
“Those are the words Moses heard.”

Ezra:
“Now the people are hearing them too.”

Visual: Keep only three speech balloons.

PANEL 14 — THE SIGNS ARE SHOWN

Visual: Aaron performs the signs before the gathered people. The crowd watches with amazement.

Sam:
“Now they can see the signs.”

Ezra:
“They have reason to believe.”

Visual note: Make the signs visually clear but not spectacular or superhero-like.

Exodus says Aaron spoke God's words and performed the signs before the people. (Bible Gateway)

PANEL 15 — THE PEOPLE BELIEVE

Visual: The Israelites bow their heads and worship.

One elder looks upward with relief.

Elder:
“God has not forgotten us.”

Sam:
“They believe.”

Ezra:
“He has seen their suffering.”

Visual note: No additional dialogue. Let the worship scene carry the emotional weight.

Exodus 4:31 specifically says the people believed and, hearing that God had seen their misery, bowed down and worshipped. (Bible Gateway)

PANEL 16 — DID YOU KNOW?

DID YOU KNOW?

Aaron met Moses at the mountain of God. Together they gathered Israel's elders, shared God's message and showed the signs. The people believed and worshipped God. (Bible Gateway)

WHAT EZRA LEARNED

“We don't have to carry an important mission alone. God can bring the right people alongside us.”

Visual: Small sequence:
Moses → Aaron → Elders → People

PANEL 17 — RETURN

Visual: Back in the cave. Ezra and Sam stand beside the glowing Time Scroll.

Sam:
“They're ready.”

Ezra:
“And Moses has Aaron beside him.”

The Scroll displays:

RETURN

SFX:

WHOOOOSH!

PANEL 18 — THE REAL CHALLENGE

Visual: The Scroll opens again.

A magnificent Egyptian palace appears. Moses and Aaron stand before Pharaoh.

Sam:
“That's Pharaoh.”

Ezra:
“Then the real challenge begins.”
