Secret Atlas — Compact Series Title Image Guidelines

For the generic series title image, the goal is to create a recognizable visual mark that works at small sizes—comic thumbnails, mobile screens, episode headers, social posts, and eventually print.

1. Core Composition

Use a compact horizontal/near-square emblem, rather than a large cinematic scene.

Recommended structure:

SECRET ATLAS
The Unmapped World

with a central Atlas symbol integrated into or placed beside the title.

2. Main Logo

The primary visual identity should be:

SECRET ATLAS

  • Large, bold, uppercase lettering

  • Slightly condensed or blocky retro type

  • Strong silhouette

  • Easy to read at thumbnail size

  • Slightly weathered/printed texture

  • Subtle vintage expedition aesthetic

Do not use an overly elaborate font.
The title must remain readable even when reduced dramatically.

3. The Atlas Symbol

Create one distinctive symbol that can become the series icon.

Suggested combination:

Compass + Map Grid

The symbol could show:

  • A compass needle forming the pupil

  • Latitude/longitude lines behind it

  • A tiny unexplored coordinate marker

The symbol should be recognizable even without the words SECRET ATLAS.

This becomes useful for:

  • Episode corner marks

  • Social media avatar

  • Atlas Incognita cover

  • Character equipment

  • Merchandise

  • Website favicon

  • Chapter separators

4. Subtitle

Place beneath the main title:

THE UNMAPPED WORLD

Use a smaller, clean uppercase typeface.

It should support the main logo rather than compete with it.

Recommended hierarchy:

SECRET ATLAS
★★★★★
THE UNMAPPED WORLD

The main title should occupy approximately 70–80% of the visual attention.

5. Colour Direction

Use a limited 3–4 colour palette.

Recommended base:

  • Deep navy / charcoal

  • Warm parchment

  • Golden yellow

  • Accent red or orange

The colours should feel like:

Vintage field guide + scientific expedition + modern comic.

Avoid gradients-heavy or glossy effects.

Prefer:

  • Flat colours

  • Halftone dots

  • Slight ink misregistration

  • Paper grain

  • Screen-print texture

  • Distressed edges

6. Background

Keep the background simple.

Possible elements:

  • Subtle topographic contour lines

  • Faint world map

  • Coordinate grid

  • Compass markings

  • Tiny unexplored-location markers

These should remain secondary.

At small sizes, the background should visually disappear while the title remains dominant.

7. Character Integration

For the generic series logo, don't show all three characters in full body.

Instead, consider a small silhouette or partial illustration of the trio:

Sam → looking through his glasses
Shahik → scanning with his holographic device
Aniket → holding a field tool

They can appear as a small expedition silhouette beneath/behind the logo.

This keeps the logo compact while establishing the three protagonists.

8. Visual Style

The title image should consistently follow:

Vibrant
High contrast
Flat colours
Retro textures
Scientific illustration
Adventure poster influence
Vintage cartography

Think:

A mysterious 1970s scientific expedition handbook redesigned as a modern graphic-novel logo.

9. Recommended Compact Layout

Preferred Version

        ◉
   SECRET ATLAS
  THE UNMAPPED WORLD
 ───────────────────
   13°42' N • 67°...

Where the is replaced by the custom Atlas symbol.

A more character-driven version:

      [ATLAS SYMBOL]

      SECRET ATLAS
    THE UNMAPPED WORLD

   SAM • SHAHIK • ANIKET

10. Important Rule for Future Episodes

The generic title image should NOT depict the episode location.

For example, the generic series title should not show the Darvaza crater.

Instead:

Generic title image:
SECRET ATLAS — The Unmapped World

Episode image:
SECRET ATLAS — The Pit That Won't Quit

This gives the series a consistent visual identity while allowing every episode to have its own unique visual hook.

11. Three Useful Logo Versions

I recommend maintaining three master variants:

A. FULL SERIES MARK

For covers, posters and print.

SECRET ATLAS
THE UNMAPPED WORLD

  • Atlas symbol + subtle map background

B. COMPACT MARK

For comic panels, episode headers and mobile.

Atlas symbol + SECRET ATLAS

C. ICON

For tiny spaces.

Atlas symbol only

All three should use exactly the same symbol, typography and core visual language.

12. Image-Generation Master Brief

When generating the generic title image, use this creative direction:

Compact logo/title artwork for a teen and young-adult comedy mystery science-adventure comic series called “SECRET ATLAS — The Unmapped World.” Bold retro expedition typography, custom compass-eye-map symbol, vintage cartography details, scientific field-guide aesthetic, vibrant high-contrast flat colours, limited navy, parchment, golden yellow and red-orange palette, subtle halftone and distressed print texture, clean bold silhouettes, mysterious exploration atmosphere, compact composition, extremely readable title, strong graphic silhouette, no episode-specific location, no unnecessary scenery, designed to remain recognizable at small thumbnail size, polished professional comic-series branding.

Key principle

The logo should be recognizable before it is readable.

The Atlas symbol + bold SECRET ATLAS lettering should become the visual signature of the entire series.
