# THE TIME SCROLL IDENTITY
📜 EZRA & THE TIME SCROLL
Adventures Through Bible Time
A colorful, warm and adventurous Bible-based comic where two modern teenagers are transported into pivotal moments of biblical history.
The series should feel wonder-filled, funny, educational and wholesome, rather than dark or overly dramatic.

Format
9 episodes per series

Core Concept
Ezra discovers an ancient Time Scroll, an extraordinary artifact capable of transporting its users into moments from biblical history.
When Ezra activates it with his friend Sam, they are unexpectedly transported thousands of years into the past.
They encounter people, places and events they have only read about in the Bible.
But the Time Scroll has one strict rule:
"You may witness history. You may not change it."
Every adventure therefore has two challenges:
Understand what is happening.
Find a way back home without changing biblical history.
2. THE WORLD OF THE SERIES
The comic has two worlds.
🏙️ The Modern World
Ezra and Sam live ordinary teenage lives.
They have:
School
Friends
Homework
Phones
Everyday problems
Curiosity about history and the Bible
The ordinary setting makes the time-travel adventures feel more extraordinary.
🏺 The Biblical World
The boys travel into different periods of biblical history.
Each destination should have a distinct visual identity:
Noah → lush ancient landscape, massive ark
Babel → enormous construction site
Egypt → temples, markets, desert and Nile
Exodus → wilderness and Red Sea
David → green Valley of Elah
Babylon → grand city and palace
Nineveh → bustling ancient city
Bethlehem → peaceful village under a star-filled sky
Early Church → Jerusalem and the Mediterranean world
3. THE TIME SCROLL
The Time Scroll is the central artifact.
It should not look like a normal futuristic machine.
Instead, it is an ancient parchment containing:
Circular symbols
Ancient markings
A central time symbol
Four directional symbols
Glowing ink
Hidden illustrations
When activated, the symbols rotate and form a circular portal.
Activation
Ezra places his hand on the central symbol.
Sam touches the edge.
The symbols begin moving.
SFX:
WHOOOOSH!
The surroundings dissolve into light.
They arrive somewhere in biblical history.
Returning Home
The Scroll eventually displays:
RETURN
But the boys must discover how to activate it safely.
Sometimes the return mechanism doesn't work immediately.
That becomes part of the episode's adventure.
4. THE TIME-TRAVEL RULES
These rules should remain consistent throughout the series.
Rule 1 — Don't Change History
Ezra and Sam cannot deliberately alter biblical events.
Rule 2 — Don't Reveal the Future
They cannot tell people what is going to happen.
Rule 3 — Don't Introduce Modern Technology
Phones, watches and other modern objects must remain hidden.
Rule 4 — Don't Become Part of the Story
They can observe and occasionally interact naturally, but they cannot replace or influence important biblical characters.
Rule 5 — Get Home
The Time Scroll eventually brings them back—but they must figure out how.
Rule 6 — Learn Something
Every journey should leave Ezra and Sam with a deeper understanding of the biblical event.
5. CHARACTER BIBLE

Approximately 15–17

Character Arc
Ezra begins the series thinking:
"This is an amazing adventure!"
He gradually learns:
"We're not here to change history. We're here to understand it."
Visual Identity
Keep the approved Ezra character design unchanged.
His appearance should remain consistent across:
Logo
Character sheets
Covers
All episodes
Modern scenes
Biblical scenes

A simple recognizable outfit can become Ezra's visual signature:
Casual T-shirt
Jeans
Sneakers
Small backpack
For biblical settings, the boys can use period-appropriate disguises when necessary.
Character 2 — Sam
Role
Ezra's friend / Co-adventurer
Character Reference
Sam's appearance should be based on the attached reference images you provided, translated into the same soft 2D comic style.

Ezra is the impulsive explorer.
Sam is the practical counterbalance.
This creates natural humor without making either character foolish.
Important Visual Rule
Sam does not need to appear in the series logo.
The logo should remain focused on:
EZRA & THE TIME SCROLL
