PANEL 1 — TITLE
THE 7TH REFLECTION
A Visual Mystery by Forecasterman
Series 1 • Episode 2 • The Stolen Diamond
Main Character: Mary ma'am
PANEL 2 — STORY
Mary ma'am receives an urgent call from the Royal Gem Exhibition.
A priceless blue diamond called The Blue Star has disappeared from its locked display case.
The strange part is that the glass is unbroken, the lock is undamaged, and the alarm never sounded.
The curator shows Mary two photographs of the exhibition hall.
One was taken shortly before the diamond disappeared.
The other was taken afterward.
Mary studies them carefully.
Curator:
“Nobody could have touched the case.”
Mary ma'am:
“Perhaps the case isn't where I should be looking.”
She places the two photographs side by side.
Mary ma'am:
“Let's see what changed.”
PANEL 3 — BEFORE
BEFORE — 7:40 PM
The Royal Gem Exhibition is quiet.
The Blue Star diamond is displayed inside a glass case.
Important objects in the scene:
Blue Star diamond inside the display case
Security camera pointing directly at the case
Red velvet barrier positioned evenly around the display
Blue decorative vase on a pedestal, facing forward
Security guard's chair beside the display
Exhibition information board shows a large image of the Blue Star diamond.
Wall clock showing 7:40 PM
Small round mirror
Side/service door, closed
Spotlight shining on the diamond
Exhibition brochure on a table
The curator stands beside the display.
Curator:
“The diamond was here at 7:40.”
Mary examines the room.
Mary ma'am:
“And nothing seemed unusual?”
Curator:
“Nothing.”
PANEL 4 — AFTER
AFTER — 7:50 PM
Show the exact same exhibition hall from the same viewpoint.
The Blue Star diamond is now missing.
The following six differences must be clearly visible:
1. SECURITY CAMERA
Before: pointing directly at the display.
After: turned slightly away.
2. RED VELVET BARRIER
Before: in its original position.
After: one section has shifted.
3. BLUE VASE
Before: facing forward.
After: slightly rotated.
4. SECURITY GUARD'S CHAIR
Before: beside the display.
After: moved toward the entrance.
5. INFORMATION BOARD
Before: Board shows a large image of the Blue Star diamond.
After: Board shows a large image of the empty display case.
6. WALL CLOCK
Before: 7:40 PM.
After: 7:50 PM.
The small round mirror remains in exactly the same position.
The side/service door also appears closed.
Mary compares the two photographs.
Mary ma'am:
“The diamond disappeared…”
She points around the room.
Mary ma'am:
“…but six other things changed.”
PANEL 5 — THE CLUES
Mary identifies the six visible differences:
1. CCTV — the camera was turned away.
2. Velvet barrier — one section was shifted.
3. Blue vase — its position changed.
4. Guard's chair — it was moved toward the entrance.
5. Information board — a different section is displayed.
6. Wall clock — the time changed from 7:40 to 7:50.
Mary studies the pattern.
The changed objects seem to create a path toward the side door.
Mary ma'am:
“Someone wanted me to notice these.”
She looks at the small round mirror.
THE 7TH REFLECTION
The mirror reflects the side/service door.
In the reflection, the door is slightly open, revealing a dark passage beyond it.
But from the main view, the door appears completely closed.
Mary looks at the door.
Mary ma'am:
“There is my seventh clue.”
PANEL 6 — STORY RESOLUTION
Mary opens the side door.
A narrow service corridor lies behind it.
On the floor, she finds a tiny blue glass fragment.
She picks it up.
Curator:
“Is that from the diamond?”
Mary shakes her head.
Mary ma'am:
“No. It's from the display.”
Beside the fragment, she notices the familiar seven-point symbol.
Mary examines it carefully.
On the back of the fragment is a tiny engraving:
7:07
Mary's expression changes.
Mary ma'am:
“This is the same symbol from the missing painting.”
She adds the clue to her notebook.
Two impossible thefts.
Two identical symbols.
Mary examines the blue glass fragment.
Mary ma'am:
“This isn't from the diamond.”
She looks at the display case.
Mary ma'am:
“Someone didn't steal the diamond from the case.”
She looks toward the corridor.
Mary ma'am:
“They removed it before it ever reached this room.”
FINAL CAPTION
Two mysteries.
One strange symbol.
And a trail that has only just begun.
Mary closes her notebook.
Mary ma'am:
“Let's see where it leads.”
